Driftwood crochet hook, wool, silk.
Approximately 45 x 47cms.
 
The hook is from Portreath, and I imagine it drifting along the coastal coves wondering when it will find rest and respite from the storm-filled seas. The view from the cliff at Hell's mouth combines sleek, smooth sea and scruffy, scratchy clifftop. This is reflected in the use of wool and silk, a tactile difference in textures. From above, the driftwood continues to drift away from its resting place.
